Well what a Mixed ending to last year, I finally got somewhere with the doctors and a diagnosis which explains my struggles with migraines, weight loss, severe constant pains, chronic sinusitis and the odd seizure, it had a heavy knock on my old battle with depression, but on the plus side the gig life has been good and there is nothing better for that than being busy with gigs! Orange Goblin, Corrosion of Conformity, Zeal & Ardor which also included an interview with the great and humble Manuel, The Infernal Sea with Abigail Williams, Clutch, The Persistence tour with Municipal Waste, Napalm Death and Sick of it All. Killswitch Engage with Parkway Drive, and my favourite guys Blind River bringing their acoustic side to the Inglorious tour! With all these gigs doing photography, it’s easy to forget what it is like going to gigs for fun, thankfully I had the greatest of times heading to At The Gates and Behemoth in London as a punter for once. Just wow!
What shows has everyone else made it to the past few months? Any favourites or new discoveries? This year has taken me to new venues including the impressive Alexandra Palace and Nottingham’s Rock City where I had the pleasure to work alongside some fantastic photographers! The year is already well under the way and if it carries on anything like this, then I will have absolutely no complaints!
Huge thanks as always to all the guys and girls in the teams at Ramzine and The Revival Music! Be sure to go check them out and support the hard work from everyone else! Now to relax and enjoy the 6 nations!
